Grapefruit diet, what else?

The Grapefruit diet or the “New Mayo diet” is certainly one of the great fad diets. It’s been a long time since this diet was published. Although most experts do not believe that it is nutritionally acceptable, allows a reduction of pounds in a short period of time.
This diet offers a loss of 12-30 pounds in the first two weeks, but you can have a similar result with any other diets. Unfortunately it also has the same risk to regain the weight lost when you return to your old eating habits.

Other benefits about the Grapefruit Diet?

Some advantages of choosing this diet are that researchers believe grapefruit reduces the level of insulin, contributing to weight loss. A high level of insulin means that your body is not utilizing sugar for energy and the excess sugar can be changed and stored as fat in the body.
High levels of insulin can make people feel hungry and for this reason, as several studies have confirmed this, consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice may helps to reduce the level of insulin, allowing the body to burn energy, increase metabolism and give you the feeling of being full.
